The Past…
Numerous forces have come to power that threaten the world. And just as there was always evil threatening the world, there was also been forces of good to stop them. The first true threat of the last generation was so powerful, no one man could defeat it. This threat was Gouki, a warrior so consumed with gaining power that he murdered his own father. If he wanted to, Gouki would have risen to power, and perhaps taken control. Thankfully, Gouki, disgusted with the world, and the lack of powerful warriors, went into seclusion on an island. He would train his powers past the limits of his body, waiting for the warriors of the next generation. Not long after, more than one threat to peace was born.
The not too distance past….
The United Nations were faced with the threat of a power unlike any they had seen before. This was M. Bison. He not only possessed a commanding presence, and a loyal army of warriors, but he also had learn to tap into the essence of true power, which he called his Psycho Power. This made him far too powerful for the military might of the world to stand a chance against him. His goal was two sided. He opening expressed an interest in taking control of the entire world. In secret, he wished for a new body that could withstand the might of the Psycho Power. He had a body made, but, things did not go according to plan.
He had one of his top warriors, a Muay Thai behemoth by the name of Sagat, host a world martial arts tournament, hoping to locate a body strong enough for his soul. Sagat set up a gauntlet style tournament, where each warrior had to win a match against every other one in order to face him. One warrior was able to make it to the Muay Thai God. He was a young man, not older than eighteen years of age. Sagat fought, and dominated this man, but hewould not stay down. Sagat forgot about his mission, and continued to torture the boy with brutal attacks, until it seemed he was defeated. However, this awakened something in within the youth, which Bison was not the only one to detect. Consumed by the desire for victory, the youth unleashed a powerful evil force, defeating Sagat in a single attack.
Elsewhere, Gouki finally came out of hiding, sensing that the time had come when the warriors of the planet would be strong enough for his goals. Going under the name of Akuma, Gouki killed his own brother to dispose of any possible realization of his plans. Akuma would then return to a secluded island known as Gokuentou. There, Gouki would begin to monitor the events of the world, waiting for his time to strike, and begin to built his forces.
Bison, in the meanwhile, sets up a tournament as a trap for the youth. Many powerful warriors enter, including agents of the United Nations, determined to take Bison out once and for all. The battles are fierce, but in the end, the youth is confronted by Bison. Hardly a match for Bison as his powers were at their peak, the youth was dominate through most of the fight. Bison tried to take over the youth’s body, but his will proved to be too strong, and Bison was destroyed.
The story does not end there, as Bison would return. This time, it would take the combined might of both the youth and his eternal rival, and greatest friend, to stop Bison. Weakened, Bison retreated. While he was recovering, Sagat formed Shadowlaw, openly mocking Bison by mimicking the name of his criminal organization. Sagat began to recruit warriors to improve his power, bent on world domination. Bison would have his top warriors seek out powerful fighters as well, and bring them back for brain washing so they would serve him.
This would be a horrible threat to peace, but things would only get worse. Two more organizations would make themselves known as wishing to take control of the planet. The Illuminati, led by the powerful Gill, would rise, and begin to brain wash top warriors to improve there forces. Likewise, Gouki, would begin to take control of warriors using the dark side of their soul.
Now.....
The United Nations stands against four nearly unbeatable threats. They do not possess the might to stop all those that threaten peace, but are not alone. Warriors from all over the world join together to form an unofficial second force for good. They come to be known as the Street Fighters. They aid the United Nations in their struggle against the forces of darkness, trying to free the minds of those under control.
There is a warrior that all six sides search for without rest. They all believe that his power would be enough to give them an unbeatable advantage. This man is Ryu. The United Nations seek him, believing he knows the weakness of the organizations leaders, and seeking his incredible fighting talents to give their troops an edge. Not all within the United Nations are at ease with using Ryu like this.
The Evil Intent seeks Ryu because Akuma knows of the power within Ryu. He knows that this power would be enough to crush his foes, and, in the wrong hands, crush Akuma. He desires Ryu to become his successor when he dies. Shadowlaw seeks Ryu to take control of him. Sagat has already fallen once at Ryu’s hands, and his pride has never recovered. He thinks that if he can control Ryu, he will never fall again. The Illuminati seek Ryu because they believe him to be the greatest threat to Gill and Urien’s plans. They are aware of his true power, the power beyond the Dark Hadou, and fear it.
Shadowloo wants Ryu in the worst of ways. Bison still seeks to make Ryu’s body his own, knowing it is superior to his own. He has gone so far as to send the ruthless assassin Vega to monitor the United Nations International Relations Officer, Chun-Li Zang, knowing of Ryu’s care for her. He also has the lethal Poison watching Ryu’s best friend, Ken Masters. He will have Ryu, no matter what it takes.
